Fine Art Sculpture

Bringing Art To Life

Faithful reproduction of the artist's creative skill is of paramount importance to the quality of the casting process. Lunts use of the lost wax process enables us to translate fine art into an exact 3D representation of any figure.

Some clients commission us to undertake the whole production process, others prefer to perform some of the work themselves. Again, the choice is yours. Either way, you will find each aspect of our service is thoroughly professional and competitively priced.

Moulding

The initial sculpture or pattern is moulded in rubber. As many waxes as the size of the order are then produced from the rubber mould.

These waxes are then 'sprued', meaning the metal feeding system for casting is attached.

Casting

Each wax is coated in investment powder or ceramic shell, the wax is melted out and the metal poured in via the sprue - the more free flowing the metal, the better the result.

The casting is then fettled out and chased and patinated in the appropriate finish.

Finishing

Finishing The wide range of chemical treatments available today allows for a wide range of colours and finishes. The choice of final effect is naturally personal to the client who commissions the work, but we will be pleased to advise if you wish.
